Welcome to Free Stuff Friday - a new weekly post that does exactly what its name suggests: sharing cool freebies, every Friday. Each week we'll be picking the best sounds, packs, patches and instruments we've seen from the Ableton Community, and passing them onto you to take into your weekend of music-making.

The most common questions I answer is how to save Ableton Live Packs and presets to the browser so they can be used in any project. So I've created a video tutorial on how to do just that. There are a couple of ways to do it, and it depends on how you want to save things.

Taishokoto from Fidelitarium
Ableton Instrument Rack Download
The Taishokoto is harp-like instrument from the Japanese Taisho era in the early 20th century. Strummed with one hand and keyed with the other, it features both plucked and sympathetic (drone) strings. Phillip Jackson at Fidelitarium has shared a free Instrument Rack made of samples from the Taishokoto - preview it above and head to Fidelitarium to download for Live.
Noise, Hiss & Crackle from SampleRadar
Modern digital recording and playback might have eliminated tape hiss, vinyl crackle, and other analog noise, but sometimes you want that special character in your tracks. For example, listen to how sampled (and filtered) vinyl noise adds a gritty character to Burial's signature tune, 'Archangel':
Get an arsenal of analog noise samples for free with MusicRadar's sample pack - featuring 502 different samples of warm hiss, crackle, and other audio blemishes.

Good news if you’ve been waiting for someone to deliver the goods on your classic-synth wishlist for some time. This year, Santa’s got a Pack in his sack.
It’s filled with sounds from vintage synths and works with any version of Live 10. So toss the turkey leg and feast instead on Singularities, a specially prepared selection of single-sample synth-instruments by Ableton sound designer Huston Singletary.
Huston has put a lot of love and experience into recreating the quirks and nuances of classic gear for the Pack’s 40 Instrument Racks, with a focus on using onboard Sampler and Simpler features (like filter envelopes and key tracking) to allow expressive and realistic playback reminiscent of the original hardware.
On top of these instruments, there are plenty of MIDI clips to start ideas, and two retro-sounding Drum Kits. So this is no pair of novelty socks – you’re likely to use the sounds again and again.
Check out demos and tutorials with the Singularities sounds on Huston’s Instagram.
