Sep 19, 2012 How to setup your audio interface with Ableton Live on a Mac September 19, 2012 admin Audio 0 To really get the most out of Ableton, you’re going to need a dedicated audio interface. If your using a microphone that connects with a audio line-in cable, then plug it into your Mac's headphone port, Apple has combined the audio line-in and the headphone ports on the latest MacBooks. Now we need to tweak your apps to use that microphone instead of the default built in mic.

May 19, 2016 using headphones and mic simultaneously Post by kplusqequals » Fri May 13, 2016 5:33 pm i have produced ableton on a macbook for a year, currently i am working on a pc - windows 8.1. Jan 23, 2020 Being a cardioid microphone, the AT2020 USB performs best when recording sound from a single source located in front of the microphone. What makes the AT2020 USB so great for musicians is its ability to easily fit into shock mounts and mic booms, allowing you to position the microphone perfectly in your space.

Can anyone help me connect my mic up to use with Ableton as I am getting no sound atall.
I have an M-Audio keystudio 49i controller with a Rode NT1A Condenser Mic connected directly into its mic socket, which is all connected to my laptop via USB.
Ive spent a few hours changing the audio preferences etc and searching for an answer in Ableton's own help menu but no luck. Even when I can see the reading levels reacting to my voice I am hearing nothing in my headphones. I know the headphones are fine as I use a guitar with no probs. I keep hearing about pre-amps but Im sure that's all built-in to the cntroller's audio interface.
